Dr. Turmeric’s Aromatic Turmeric Powder is a special blend of three types of turmeric that features curcuma aromatica (spring turmeric), curcuma zedoaria (Okinawa variety purple turmeric) and premium red turmeric. This blend has a mustard yellow hue with a piquant, bitter and zesty aromatic profile with notes of Borneo Camphor, Cinnamon, Sarsaparilla and wintergreen. Spring Turmeric is a wild varietal of turmeric that flowers in the springtime and is used mainly is traditional medicines and balms. It is widely regarded as a mood booster and natural anti-depressant used in Japan for hangover busting energy drinks as well as immune boosting cough and cold fighting tonics. Curcuma Zedoaria is noted for its energizing and immune enhancing properties and is used in Okinawa and India for coughs, cold and fighting the flu symptoms. Zedoaria is used in Fernet Branca, aromatic bitters and herbal liqueurs. This blend is best taken straight up, like a matcha shot or used in bitters and mixology formulas.

This premium grade blend of turmeric is cold milled into a fine powder and vacuum packaged into a glass jar. The character is like no other spice market grade of turmeric powder you may have seen. It is a fine talc powder and there is no need to sift or strain it.
